Every day, we are working to end hygiene insecurity by providing free and consistent access to hygiene products such as shampoo, feminine hygiene, soap, laundry detergent and toothpaste to our neighbors. Unfortunately, none of the products in this broad category are covered or provided by local, state or federal assistance programs. While these items might seem small, the cost of basic hygiene needs can be over $2,500 a year for a family of four. Together with our funders, volunteers and partners, the Kindness Closet is working to educate our community about the need for and importance of hygiene as a basic need, while also coordinating distribution programs of these items to ensure that all of our neighbors have access to hygiene, health and human dignity.
