I CARE, Inc.

I-CARE, Inc. has served Iredell Country since 1965, providing opportunities for families to overcome poverty. We also serve Catawba, Alexander, and Lincoln counties in varying capacities. Our mission is to empower and assist individuals and families with low incomes to attain skills, knowledge, motivation, and opportunities to become self-sufficient and independent as well as to revitalize their communities.

Our organization provides support to families with children aged 1–5 through the federal Head Start and Early Head Start programs, focusing on early learning. We also aid the entire family by utilizing federal Community Services Block Grant funds, which provide career-building opportunities via tuition assistance for short-term training programs that result in high-demand jobs. Additionally, we offer assistance through the federal Weatherization Assistance Program, which helps families improve their home's energy efficiency and health/safety with HVAC repairs or replacements among other services. All services we offer are free of charge to families and individuals.
