Help the United Way of Iredell County assist pilots provide 'Tethered' Hot Air Balloon Rides this year! We work as a team to assist with tether balloon set up, selling tickets for rides, and guiding customers on and off the balloons as directed by the pilots. It's an experience like you've never had before! You will receive a parking pass and T-shirt prior to the event. Please be sure to include your SHIRT SIZE in the RESPONSE NOTES as you sign up for this NEED. Or you can email your shirt size to Linda at lwahlberg@uwiredell.org by October 11th at Noon.
Please let me know if you’d like your hours credited to a specific non-profit organization. We’ll credit the hours for them as we have done in the past. We will email out additional instructions and festival information the week of October 14th. You will be required to sign a waiver provided by Carolina BalloonFest on the premises prior to being allowed to begin your shift. Instructions will be provided upon your arrival at the Tethered balloon location.
*Volunteer parking will be at Jet East through the Lowe's Hangar Gate (Old Mountain Rd to Bethlehem Rd through Lowe's Hanger Gate. Boy Scouts will be there to direct you to reserved volunteer parking. Shuttles will take you to the Volunteer Check in Tent at the Festival entrance. Allow extra time for heavy traffic into festival site.
The Carolina BalloonFest is a festival and a nonprofit. They take pride in their NC-based roots, and owe much to their community and the multitude of volunteers, other nonprofits and community agencies who ban together each year to make the Carolina BalloonFest a truly unforgettable event, one that has a tremendous impact on the wellbeing of the citizens of Iredell County and surrounding locations.
