Our resources extend beyond our shelter guests and into the Statesville community! Twice a week, our community food program funded by the Ride United program delivers frozen meat, fresh produce, pantry staples, and nutritious snacks to food-insecure families within a 10-mile radius.
We use the food donations the shelter receives and some food that we have to purchase outright to pack those boxes on Wednesday and Friday mornings, and DoorDash drivers pick them up and get paid by Ride United to deliver them free of charge.
Just a note: Make sure you dress accordingly as this volunteer shift may involve some lifting of boxes up to 25 pounds and volunteers will have the option to work in our walk-in cooler if (totally NOT REQUIRED by the way, but it's still fun!)
ALL ages are welcome to volunteer with us.
~Anyone under the age of 18:
- Must have a parent/legal guardian signature on application.
- Parent/Legal guardian must stay with them while volunteering
~Groups (Schools, Church, Scouts):
- Under 18 must have parent/legal guardian signature.
- Group leader(s) must stay with the group while volunteering.

~Volunteering for the first time or it's been more than a year:
- Anyone volunteering for the first time, or it's been more than a year, must fill out the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION below
