Dressed in historically accurate period attire, you'll engage with our event guests and visitors through storytelling, hands-on demonstrations of traditional skills—such as blacksmithing, cooking, or textile production—and by interpreting daily life from the early years of Charlotte's founding. Beyond their public interaction, volunteering also assist with our educational programming, support many of our FREE and open to the public special events, and aid in maintaining our historic sites' authenticity! Volunteering at the Hugh Torance House & Store allows our nonprofit to offer high-quality, engaging experiences that foster community stewardship of local history!
