Who We Are

Our mission - Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region brings people together to build homes, communities & hope. Our vision - A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

What We Do

Homebuyer - The homeownership program enables low-income families earning between 30-80% of the HUD area median income (AMI) to purchase Habitat-constructed or rehabbed existing homes with affordable, below market mortgages. This “traditional” Habitat model of building new homes is made possible through volunteer labor and the partnership of Homeowners-in-Process.

Critical Home Repair - Critical Home Repair meets the needs of low-income residents who own their homes but do not have the financial means to fund much-needed repairs when their home has fallen into serious disrepair, potentially creating unsafe living conditions. The program ensures homeowners, primarily seniors are able to age in place, adding to their emotional well- being and neighborhood stability.

Pathways and Partners - Habitat Charlotte Region believes that financial literacy is the key to achieving generational wealth. Our Money Matters Pathways and Partners program is designed to provide individuals with education and guidance, regardless of their current financial situation, to help them achieve their dream of becoming homeowners.

Neighborhood Revitalization - Through Neighborhood Revitalization (NR), Habitat Charlotte Region works with residents to transform neighborhoods by bringing together nonprofits, businesses, local government and communities of faith to implement a shared vision.
